American pop singer, Taylor Swift has been named the richest female musician in the world with a net worth of 1.6 billion dollars.
Swift’s net worth is contained in the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires released yesterday, attributing her impressive feat largely to her financial success, stemming from her sold-out global Eras tour and the value of her entire music catalog, making her the first musician to become a billionaire from her songs and live performances.
Her wealth includes nearly 600 million dollars from royalties and touring, an additional 600 million dollars from her music catalog, and about 125 million dollars in real estate.
With the pop star being ranked at number 2,117, on the Forbes list of the world’s billionaires, she has now surpassed some other female musicians including former record holder, Rihanna who is at number 2,336 with net worth of 1.4 billion dollars, along side Madonna at 850 million dollars, Beyoncé at 760 million dollars and Celine Dion at 550 million dollars.
Currently, Swift has also become the second richest musician in the world, coming right after Jay-Z whose net worth is about 2.5 billion dollars.
