PRESIDENCY DENIES ASKING CBN GOVERNOR TO RESIGN

President BOLA TINUBU has denied askingYEMI CARDOSO to resign from his position as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

A report had claimed that President TINUBU,before departing for China issued a directive to CARDOSO, telling him to resign, despite efforts by influential Yoruba leaders to keep him in the position.

 But the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, BAYO ONANUGA, who took to his official X handle, described the report as all lies, insisting that CARDOSO was never told to resign.

 CARDOSO has faced criticism for his inability to address the ongoing economic challenges and stabilize the Naira.
