The former governor of Kogi state, YahayaBello, was reportedly whisked away from his Abuja residence by the incumbent governor, Usman Ododo, hours after theEconomic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) laid siege to arrest him.
Ododo had stormed the Bello’s Abuja home despite a heavy security crackdown by the operatives of the EFCC, and other security agencies in a bid to get the former governor arrested.
Although the reason for the restricted movement in and around Bello’s house could not be ascertained at the moment, it may not be unconnected to the allegation of money laundering earlier leveled against him.
Earlier, a Federal High Court in Abuja granted the EFCC permission to arrest the former governor of Kogi State, YAHAYA BELLO, preparatory to his arraignment today.
Subsequently, the EFCC issued a stern warning to members of the public, stating that it is a criminal offence to obstruct the commission’s officers from carrying out their lawful duties, Insisting that such act will be met with severe punitive measures.
