The Enugu State House of Assembly has at its plenary passed into law two bills, namely the Enugu State Geographic Information System Service GISS, House Bill No. 2, 2024, and Bill for a Law to establish New Enugu City Management Agency and for Connected Purposes, House Bill No. 2 2024.
The passage of these bills was a sequel to the presentation and adoption of the reports of the joint Committee Chairmen, on Housing, Landsand Urban Development, Environment, Capital Territory Authority, Education, Science and Technology, Judiciary, Public Petitions, Ethics, of the House, Okey Mbah and Pius Ezeugwu.
In their separate presentation, Mbah and Ezeugwu noted that the bills had quality and professional inputs from professionals, traditional rulers, Civil Society groups, and critical stakeholders during the public hearing as well as inputs from the Attorney General and other ministries.
Ruling during the passage of the bills, the Speaker Uche Ugwu commended the chairmen and members of the joint committees for delivering with deep commitment and dedication such critical legislation that is in line with the governor’s agenda of disruptive innovation.
Urban Radio Correspondent Emeka Chibuoke reports that the House had earlier during plenary passed for the first reading, bills for Enugu State Independent ElectoralCommission Amendment Bill house bill No. 3, and the State University of Medical and Applied Science Teaching Hospital, Igbo-Eno.
