ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT BEGINS TRAINING OF TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY WORKERS.

The Enugu State Government and the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism NIHOTOUR have commenced a three-day training of the staff of the Enugu State Tourism Board and hotels in the state to boost sustainable tourism development as well as hospitality operations and practices in the state.

Speaking at the opening of the training, the Executive Chairman, of Enugu State Tourism Board Rita Mbah said tourism is one of the key sectors in Governor Peter Mbah’s administration’s determination to raise the state’s economy from the current 4.4 billion dollars to 30 billion dollars, hence the need to equip workers in the sector with relevant skills and best practices for efficient and quality service delivery.

On his part, the Director-General of NIHOTOUR, Nura Kangiwa, commended Governor Mbah’s commitment to capacity building in the state’s tourism and hospitality industry, guaranteeing that the training was tailored towards responding to the emerging needs of the industry and bridging the unemployment gap in Nigeria.
