UCHE UGWU EMERGES NEW SPEAKER OF THE ENUGU STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY.

Uche Ugwu representing Udi North State Constituency has emerged as the new speaker for the 8th Enugu State House of Assembly while Ezenta Eze-Ani representing Igboetiti East is the deputy speaker following their inauguration on the floors of the hallowed chamber of the Assembly.

After the proclamation of the 8th Assembly yesterday, the member representing Nkanu West State Constituency Iloabuchi Aniagu nominated Uche Ugwu, which was seconded by Anthony Nwankwo representing Ngwu South Constituency.

In closing his remarks, the Clerk described the new speaker as a man of peace and a person of good character:

Addressing the House after his election, the new speaker, who was a former deputy speaker promised to carry all members of the house along, irrespective of their party affiliation.

Urban Radio Correspondent Emeka Chibuoke said the House inauguration was graced by notable ex-law makers, former commissioners, top government functionaries, party faithful, the press, and major stakeholders across the broad spectrum of the society.
