DELTA STATE POLICE APPREHEND KIDNAP GANG AND RECOVER FIREARM AND AMMUNITION.

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Decoy Squad, led by Asp Julius Robinson on a sting operation, have arrested the 30-year-old leader of a kidnap gang, Emmanuel James, and a 25-year-old gang member, Ejiro Peter for allegedly kidnapping a couple of Okutonye Efetobore.

The gang reportedly collected One million Naira ransom at Ughelli while another suspect, simply identified as Oh Lord escaped with bullet wounds.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Dsp Bright Edafe who confirmed this in a statement said the police also recovered a bag containing a locally fabricated pistol and three rounds of 7.62 AK47 live ammunition from the suspects.

Edafe said the criminals confessed to their involvement in a series of armed robberies, and kidnapping operations in Ughelli and Warri which included the kidnap of the Efetobore on the 27th of April in Ughelli Town and a ransom of one million naira paid before the couple was released.
