The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC has enjoined all the professional bodies in Nigeria to join the commission in the fight against money laundering and corruption in general.
The chairman of the anti-graft agency Abdul Rasheed Bawa, who made the call during the 2023 presidential retreat of the Association of Professional Bodies of Nigeria APBN in Enugu, said they are saddled with the responsibility of instituting transparency and accountability in any organization by ensuring that transactions are valid and properly recorded according to the established standard.
Bawa, represented by the Enugu zonal commander, Johnson Oshodi assured that with the support of the government and intensified effort by the commission, corruption would soon be a thing of the past.
Earlier in his address, the President APBN, Manason Rubainu emphasized that the involvement of professionals in policy-making would help the government to render governance to the society, stressing that 99% of Nigeria’s problems would be solved if professionals practiced based on their ethics and pledge to Nigeria.
