Kwara State Government has announced the release of 176 people abducted during the February 3, 2026 attack on Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of the state.
The announcement was made through the state government’s official Facebook page, which expressed appreciation to President BOLA TINUBU, security agencies and all those who contributed to the safe release of the victims.
The victims were abducted after Boko Haram-linked extremists stormed the rural communities of Woro and Nuku on motorcycles, carrying out a coordinated attack that reportedly lasted for several hours.
The assault, described as one of the deadliest incidents in Kwara State’s history, reportedly claimed more than 200 lives, injured several others, destroyed homes and businesses, and displaced many residents.
