Acting Inspector-General of Police, TUNJI DISU has formally assumed office following his appointment by President BOLA TINUBU, after being decorated at the Presidential Villa yesterday.
DISU took the first salute from police personnel at Force Headquarters, succeeding KAYODE EGBETOKUN, who stepped down citing personal and family reasons.
In his remarks, the acting IGP acknowledged the Nigeria Police Force’s strengths, highlighting its pool of dedicated, professional officers capable of confronting current security threats.
While acknowledging challenges such as public trust deficits, outdated infrastructure, and resource constraints, DISU reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening professionalism and instituting meaningful reform.
