PETER OBI PLEDGES ₦20M SUPPORT FOR VICTIMS OF FLOOD IN NIGER STATE

The Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, PETER OBI, has announced a ₦20 million donation to victims of the devastating flash floods that ravaged Mokwa Local Government Area in Niger state, killing over 153 people and displacing thousands.

 OBI, who visited Niger State yesterday, alongside former minister NENADI USMANand his former campaign spokesperson YUNUSA TANKO, to show solidarity with the people affected by the disaster, said the donation was part of his commitment to supporting recovery efforts in the state.

 In a post on his X handle, he revealed that he had earlier contacted Governor MOHAMMED BAGO from the United Kingdom to extend his condolences, before making the trip in person, and was received in the state by Deputy Governor YAKUBU GARBA.

 He further called for a united national response, from Federal Government, emergency agencies, and concerned Nigerians to support the victims
