The Facebook and Instagram accounts of popular Nigerian musician and activist EEDRIS ABDULKAREEM have been suspended by Meta, the parent company of both platforms.
Reports indicate that the artiste’s accounts were flagged and taken down less than a week after he released a new single titled “Open Letter to Donald Trump.”
In the song, ABDULKAREEM called on United States President DONALD TRUMP to intervene in addressing several crises in Nigeria, particularly the nation’s worsening security challenges.
Released on November 29, 2025, via his label, Lakreem Entertainment, the track was first published on TikTok, with ABDULKAREEMcharacterizing Nigerian leaders as “criminals of all shades and types” who enrich themselves while citizens grapple with severe insecurity, including kidnappings, killings, and terrorism.
This is not the first time ABDULKAREEM has used his music as a platform to challenge authority figures, recall that in April 2025, he released “Tell Your Papa,” a track in which he called out SEYI TINUBU and urged him to convey the struggles of Nigerians to his father, President BOLA TINUBU.
