LIMCAF HOLDS EXHIBITION IN HONOUR OF LATE FOUNDER

A non-governmental organisation, Life in My City Art Festival, LIMCAF yesterday held its Enugu Regional Art Exhibition in honour of its late founder, Rotarian Robert Oji. 

The ceremony was held at Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Enugu Exhibition Hall, with the theme, ‘Can We Breathe?”, featuring rich array of thought-provoking visual artworks that interpreted the theme in diverse and deeply personal ways, addressing issues of societal constraints, environmental challenges, and the resilience of the human spirit.

 Speaking at the event, Director of Enugu State University of Science and Technology, ESUT Consultancy Services, Professor OKECHUKWU OJI,  described the late LIMCAF founder as a selfless visionary, who through LIMCAF, has inspired patriotism, drive, and purpose among the youth and further highlighted on the theme of the exhibition.

In his remarks, Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology, IMT, Professor GOZIE OGBODO, represented by the Head of the Department of Fine Art, FIDE UDENTA,expressed delight in collaborating with LIMCAF in driving artistic growth and youth empowerment in the state and Nigeria in general.

The late founder’s son, Mr. O. OJI, expressed pride in the festival’s remarkable progress over its 18-year history, while affirming that his father had been a true art lover and further pledged to carry on his father’s legacy and to remain actively involved in the activities of LIMCAF.

Some of the art exhibitors, including CHUKWUDUBEM OFFORDIL, LILIAN OKWUEZE and JOHN TOCHUKWU,lauded LIMCAF for providing a rare platform for young creatives to nurture their talents, gain visibility and recognition. 

Urban Radio Correspondent, CHIOMA ONWUASOMBA reports late Rotarian Robert Oji founded LIMCAF in 2006 with the vision to spark creativity among young people, while fostering social awareness and cultural pride through visual arts.
