The expelled National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, SAMUEL ANYANWU, has described the recent party national convention as a jamboree and illegal.

ANYANWU, speaking in an interview, argued that the convention lacked legitimacy because, according to him, 16 states, including the entire South-East, had not conducted their congressesprior to the event, thereby making the processes leading to the convention incomplete and undermine its credibility.

He further stated that the absence of several states meant the exercise, which lasted from Saturday into early Sunday, could not be regarded as all-inclusive.

Recall that the PDP held its national convention on Saturday, where a former Minister of Special Duties, KABIRU TURAKI, emerged as the new National Chairman of the party, while party structures in Imo, Abia, Enugu, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states were dissolved.
