AKWA IBOM GOVERNOR GIFTS 310 MILLION NAIRA TO YOUTHS FOR BOYCOTTING RECENT HUNGER PROTESTS.

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno has, gifted 310 million Naira to youths in the 31 local government areas of the state as compensation for boycotting the recent nationwide hunger protest in the state.

Uno, while speaking yesterday at the Uyo Township Stadium, said each local government would receive a sum of 10 million naira to be shared across party lines, affirming that the gesture was in fulfillment of his promise to reward the youths for shunning the recent nationwide protest in the state.

He promised to support 5,000 youths each month with 50,000 Naira business grants, enabling them to start small businesses individually or in groups, thereby stemming down unemployment rate in the state.

The Akwa-ibom governor further approved that 100 youths per Local Government Area will be added to the Ibom Community Watch across political party lines.
