ABIA STATE COMMITTEE DECLARES SEVEN DAYS OF PRAYER AND FASTING AHEAD OF SWEARING-IN.

The Organizing Committee for the Abia State Re-dedication and Abia State governor-elect Alex Otti’s Thanksgiving Service has declared a seven-day prayer, fasting, and thanksgiving period in the state.

In a statement issued yesterday in Umuahia by the Chairman and Secretary of the committee, Uzor Nwachukwu, and Bertrand Okeomah the committee revealed that the program was part of the activities lined up for the inauguration of Otti as the 10th Governor of Abia on May 29.

It further stated that the spiritual cleansing would commence with prayer and fasting on Sunday, May 21, and end on Friday, May 26, adding that the event aimed at ushering in a new wave of spirituality, would be rounded off with a Re-dedication Retreat at the Ngwa High School, Aba on May 27.

The exercise has the support of the Christian Association of Nigeria’s leadership in the state.
