As part of ongoing federal government’s efforts to strengthen road infrastructure and improve transportation networks across the country, President BOLA TINUBU has given the approval for the immediate reconstruction of three key federal roads in Niger State, alongside the extension of the Bodo–Bonny Road in Rivers State to link with the East–West Road.

The president gave the approval yesterday during a meeting with the Minister of Works, DAVID UMAHI.

Three major highways, Mokwa–Bida Road (120km); Mokwa–Makeri Road (63km) and Bida–Labata Road (123.5km) are expected to rebuilt in Niger state, and will be reconstructed using reinforced concrete pavement to ensure durability and long-term value.

In Rivers State, the Bodo–Bonny Road will be extended to connect with the East–West Road, improving regional access and economic activity.

It will be executed on a dual carriageway capacity, and will feature reinforced concrete pavement, as well as equipped with solar-powered street lighting.
