SENATE  CONFIRMS PRESIDENT TINUBU SERVICE CHIEFS NOMINEES

The Senate has confirmed President Bola Tinubu’s nominees for the positions of service chiefs.

The confirmation came after a two-hour closed-door session during which senators grilled the nominees on their plans to enhance national security and reform the armed forces.

Those confirmed include Olufemi Oluyede as Chief of Defence Staff, Wahidi Shaibu as Chief of Army Staff, Idi Abbas as Chief of Naval Staff, and Kelvin Aneke as Chief of Air Staff.

Earlier, President Tinubu had requested the Senate to screen and approve the nominees.
