PRESIDENCY PROMOTES ACTING CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF TO LIEUTENANT GENERAL.

President Bola Tinubu has promoted the acting Chief of Army Staff, Olufemi Oluyede to the position of Lieutenant General.

Tinubu, who bestowed Oluyede with his new rank in a brief ceremony held yesterday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, said the recognition highlights his dedication and service to the Nigerian military, which is evident in his outstanding record.

The president while praising the military for its unwavering courage, dedication and patriotism in maintaining the nation’s security also credited the success in combating terrorism and banditry to the synergy within the armed forces and encouraged the service chiefs to maintain unity in their relationships for the country’s benefit.

In his remarks, Oluyede expressed gratitude and acknowledged the solemnity of the occasion, and further pledged to uphold the vision of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, and to maintain peace throughout the country.
