NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT DECLARES FRIDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER AS PUBLIC HOLIDAY

The Federal Government has declared Friday, September 5, 2025, a public holiday to mark Eid-ul-Mawlid.

The public holiday was confirmed in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Interior, Magdalene Ajani, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, extended warm greetings to Muslims in Nigeria and across the world, emphasizing that Eid-ul-Mawlid offers an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, promote peaceful coexistence, and encourage selfless service to humanity.

The minister urged Muslims to emulate the Prophet’s virtues of peace, love, humility, tolerance, and compassion, to build a united and progressive nation.
