Oyo State Governor, SEYI MAKINDE, has urged members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to remain resilient and united in the face of the recent wave of defections affecting the party.

At the inauguration of the PDP National Convention Transportation Subcommittee in Abuja, chaired by the governor, he described the current challenges as temporary, assuring party faithful that the PDP will emerge stronger ahead of future elections.

The governor reaffirmed that the PDP remains a truly national party, with a presence in every ward across Nigeria, and called on members to “hold their corner” and continue working for the party’s growth at all levels, rather than being discouraged by recent setbacks.

MAKINDE’S remarks come amid concerns over high-profile defections from the PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), raising questions about the party’s cohesion and prospects ahead of 2027.
