The Israeli military has intercepted a missile launched from Yemen, triggering sirens in Tel Aviv and several other areas across the country.

Yemen’s Houthi rebels later claimed responsibility, stating that they fired two ballistic missiles at Tel Aviv as an initial response to Israeli attacks on Yemen.

The Iran-backed Houthis have been launching missiles and drones thousands of kilometers north toward Israel, which they describe as acts of solidarity with the Palestinians.

In response to the Houthi attacks, Israel has retaliated by bombing Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen, including the vital Hodeidah port.
