The Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has urged political, religious, and community leaders on mobilization and awareness creation for integrated immunization programs aimed at reducing the disease burden within Enugu State.
Ugwuanyi gave the charge in Enugu while flagging off Integrated Non-Polio Supplemental Immunization Activities; Measles, yellow fever, and COVID-19 Vaccination (Scale 3.0) and Birth Registration Campaigns in Enugu State.
The governor, represented by his Deputy, Cecilia Ezeilo, said there was a need for a collective effort to ensure mass participation in ensuring preventable diseases and massive immunization for COVID-19 and yellow fever within the state.
He noted that the state government was committed to ensuring the health well-being and welfare of all, adding that government would stop at nothing to ensure continuous immunization for all its citizens both old, young, and children.
Earlier, Executive Secretary of Enugu State Primary Health Care Development Agency George Ugwu, said the state had prepared adequately for the integrated immunization program through a massive mobilization of leaders at the grassroots.
