The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, NYESOM WIKE, has approved 14 days for all defaulters of ground rent to pay up.

A statement released by LERE OLAYINKA, the Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media to the FCT Minister, noted that  the approval followed President BOLA TINUBU’S intervention.

Recall that officials of the Federal Capital Territory Authority, FCTA, had commenced sealing of some properties for failing to pay their ground rent and one of the properties affected was the Wadata Plaza housing the People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP) national secretariat.

However, the PDP , through it acting chairman, UMAR DAMAGUM has condemned the sealing off of its secretariat calling it irresponsible, and vowed that the party will challenge the action.

Consequently, DAMAGUM said the caucus meeting has been adjourned to 10 this morning..
