The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, says it will be unprofessional of the commission to start mentioning names of individuals whose identities were not directly linked to any title document of the properties seized by the commission.

The EFCC, made this known in a statement by its spokesman, DELE OYEWALE, in reaction to the public outrage surrounding their failure to reveal the owner of the forfeited 753 duplexes and other apartments in Lokogoma District, Abuja.

The agency had announced the record-breaking recovery and claimed it belonged to a former government official.

However, in the statement, EFCC defended its decision to withhold the identity, insisting that its actions were guided by the legal framework governing forfeiture proceedings and a commitment to professionalism.

The agency said the substantive criminal investigation on the matter still continues, assuring that it remains unwavering in its no-sacred-cow approach to every matter.
