EBONYI STATE GOVERNOR TASKS MILITARY TO END SIT-AT-HOME IN SOUTH-EAST

Ebonyi State Governor, FRANCIS NWIFURU has charged the military to intensify efforts to end the sit-at-home often declared by non-state actors in the South East region, as he pledged to sustain support for the military.

 In a statement made available to newsmen by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, MONDAY UZOR, at the weekend, NWIFURU made the call when the new General Officer Commanding 82 Division of the Nigerian Army, Enugu, Major-General OLUYEMI OLATOYE, paid him a courtesy call at his office in Government House Centenary City, Abakaliki.

Governor NWIFURU also urged security agencies to introduce a reward system that will boost the morale of their officers and men.

 In his response, Major General OLATOYE commended Governor NWIFURU for his support to the military, assuring that he will collaborate with the State to maintain laws and order.
