BIGARD Memorial Seminary Enugu, yesterday, November 10, began the grand finale of the celebration of 100 years of her existence.
The centenary celebration which were graced by a distinguished array of clergymen, dignitaries, and alumni, began with a solemn Eucharistic Mass officiated by Archbishop of Ontisha and Metropolitan of Ontisha Ecclesiastical Province, His Grace, Most Reverend Father Valerian Okeke, who was a former Rector and alumnus of Bigard, as he expressed profound gratitude to God for the uninterrupted existence of Bigard Memorial seminary since 1924 till date, praying for continued divine guidance as the institution forges ahead into the next centenary.
In his remarks, the Governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, represented by the Commissioner for Local Government, Rural Development, and Chieftaincy Affairs, Deacon Okey Ogbodo, expressed deep pride in being part of the Bigard centenary celebration, while praising the seminary for its role in shaping numerous spiritual leaders who have gone on to serve both God and humanity in various capacities worldwide.
