APC WOMEN’S WING SUPPORTS MOVE FOR CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT.

The women’s wing of the All Progressives Congress, APC has backed the growing call for a constitutional amendment which guarantees reserved seats for women in the National Assembly.

At the 2025 APC Enugu Women Stakeholders’ Conference, held over the weekend with the theme ‘Progressive Woman Initiative: Empowering Women for Leadership, Policy and Nation Building’, the APC National Woman Leader, MARY IDELE ALILE, argued that the society thrives when women are part of the decision-making process and called on all members of the party, civil society, as well as citizens to support the bill seeking the creation of special seats for women, which is currently before the national assembly.

ALILE also lauded president BOLA TINUBU for his commitment to the renewed hope agenda, assuring of the women’s support for the APC-led administration.  

In his speech, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, UCHE NNAJI, affirmed the women’s role as nation builders, while appealing to them to remain steadfast, stressing that the president’s agenda has placed them at the center of national transformation.

Meanwhile, the State Chairman of the party, UGOCHUKWU AGBALLAH, expressed optimism that the conference would further equip members of the party with the tools needed to make greater impacts in their various communities.

The event, which was attended by stakeholders of the party, including APC Deputy National Chairman, South, EMMA ENEUKWU; House of Representatives member for Enugu North/Enugu South Federal Constituency, CHIMAOBI ATU, among others, also witnessed the inauguration of APC women’s wing and senior citizens
