AFOLABI NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH IN FLAMINGOS’ WIN OVER NEW ZEALAND

TAIWO AFOLABI, has been named Player of the Match following Flamingos’ 4-1 victory over New Zealand last night.

The number 10 bossed the midfield all day and got a goal for herself early in the second half, nodding home Nigeria’s fourth goal of the day on 55 minutes.

SHAKIRAT MOSHOOD, KHADIJAT ADEGOKE and FARIDAT ABDULWAHABwere the other goal scorers for BANKOLE OLOWOOKERE’S side in the game.

Flamingos occupy top spot in the group with three points from one game and will on Saturday face Ecuador who defeated hosts Dominican Republic 2-0  and also have the same points but with an inferior goal difference.
